Tata Consultancy Services, Bangalore in collaboration with Karnataka State Library Association, Bangalore is organizing two days SoFerence: A Social Conference on Failures, Learnings, Case Studies Best Practices, and Success Stories in Library & Information Science and related areas on 19-20 Oct 2013 at Bangalore.
Objectives:
ü To create an environment for LIS professionals to come together and share their experiences.
ü To discuss on the failures, learnings, success stories, best practices, recent trends, etc. in LIS & related fields.
ü To enhance the competencies of LIS professionals to meet the needs of the changing environment.
Theme:
v Case Studies on Failures, Learnings, Process Improvements, New Initiatives, Best Practices, Success Stories, Current Awareness Services, Information Retrieval & Repackaging Query Handling, Librarian as SME, Application of ICT/LMS, Marketing of Info Products, HRM, etc.*
v Surveys on Users Satisfaction, Use of eBooks / Journals, Job Satisfaction, Career Growth, New Opportunities, etc.*
v Classroom Teaching v/s Internship in LIS, Soft Skills, Professionalism, Recent Trends, Future of Libraries, etc.*
* Specific to LIS and related areas.
Call for Papers:
Unpublished and original papers on the above theme are invited. Papers will be accepted after thorough plagiarism check for stage presentation. Further, based on the participant's feedback and editorial advice, papers will be selected for the publication in SoFerence Proceedings (to be published after the event as a book with ISBN).
Authors to follow the below guidelines, otherwise paper may not be considered for presentation:
Ø Unpublished and original papers should be
- in .doc format
- in single-spaced,
- A4 page size,
- Times New Roman 12 font size,
- between 4-10pages and
- APA reference style
Ø Scanned copy of Copyright Declaration letter (with the details of theme, title, author, etc.) duly signed by the author(s) should be sent along with the paper.
Ø Paper should have Title, Author(s) Name, Organization Address, Tel. No., E-mail id, etc.
Ø Registration is mandatory for authors as well as participants.
