The Delhi Police achieved another milestone in their community policing mission when a total of 118 youths, belonging to lower strata of the society, enrolled themselves in the police-public library for a free entrance exam preparation course for teacher's training colleges.
Out of the total enrolled candidates, over 90 candidates are girls between the age group of 17 and 22 years, said Ajay Chaudhary, additional CP (southeast) district.
The police-public library was opened on the premises of the Jamia Nagar police station on February 22, 2012 with an aim to provide free education facilities to students of weaker sections.

"A team of seven highly qualified teachers will train the enrolled candidates in their preparation for their entrance exams of DIET (district institute of education and training) ETE (elementary teacher education) and B.Ed courses.So far two batches - comprising 40 students each - have been started and a couple of more are expected to start soon," said Chaudhary.
