NFBM to inaugurate braille publishing unit in  Alandi                    


                    The National Federation of the Blind, Maharashtra (NFBM) will inaugurate a braille books publishing unit and a braille digital library at the NFBM Jagriti School for Blind Girls in Alandi Devachi on Friday. The equipment have been sponsored by Cummins Diesel India Foundation. Tech Mahindra foundation provided the display cost. The unit will comprise of Index 4 wave Pro Braille Embosser which is a super speed Braille printer with a capacity of printing 1,000 Braille pages per hour. The Braille digital library will benefit the students of the NFBM Jagriti school for blind girls. The library will house five Braille displays. These displays will make it possible for the visually impaired to read any Braille files stored on a pen drive or a USB port or a computer in English as well Indian languages. This files will be stored as digital books and can be read even if they are not printed.
